FOOD AT THE EDINBURGH REFECTORY
Our resident kitchen, Wingin’ It, joined us in September 2026 and is serving up chicken wings, burgers and a host of sides and fries. They have plenty of vegan options available alongside their incredible fried chicken.

With 17 keg and six cask lines, there is always plenty pouring at The Hanging Bat. Expect fresh Northern Monk releases alongside carefully chosen beers from breweries across Scotland and further afield. Especially keep an eye out for any new releases from the Hanging Bat Brew Co, our small but mighty cuckoo brewing operation. With frequent collaborators such as Barney’s, Newbarns and of course Northern Monk.
The Bat also has an excellent range of Scottish malt whiskys, expertly made cocktails and a varied wine list.

The Hanging Bat is on Lothian Road, close to the city’s West End and some of its best-known venues and attractions.
We’re just a short walk from the Usher Hall while Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street are just 10-minutes away. If you’re coming from Haymarket, we’re just a 15-minute walk away.

ACCESSIBILITY
There is step-free access to the venue’s main floor and bar area. However the toilets are up a short flight of stairs at the back of the building. We do have an accessible toilet on site.
